WHY PLANT CITRUS IN FALL?
Southern California gives us a long planting season, but fall is one of our favorite times to get citrus and fruit trees into the garden.
The fiercest summer heat has passed. The soil is still warm. Cooler days give new trees time to settle in before the next stretch of hot weather.
And then there is rain.
When Southern California's rainy season arrives, regular irrigation and seasonal rainfall can work together while a newly planted tree begins putting down roots.
Plant one Meyer lemon outside the kitchen. Tuck a lime into a sunny courtyard. Or plant several varieties together and begin a small backyard orchard.
You do not need acres.
Sometimes an orchard starts with one tree.

Our citrus trees are sourced from trusted growers in Ventura and San Diego County.
Trees arrive nursery grown and properly tagged for sale and movement in Southern California. We source seasonally, so varieties and sizes change throughout the year.
Current varieties may include Meyer lemon, Eureka lemon, Mexican lime, Bearss lime and Pink Lemonade lemon.
